Digital Literacy at School; How do you Tackle it? Our Three Tips.
“Core objectives are the legal mandate for every school in primary education. They provide direction and offer schools frameworks for further development into educational programs,” according to the SLO.
But how do you tackle digital literacy in education, as a school board? We give three tips.
Tips for digital literacy in education
- Map out what is already happening within the school in terms of digital literacy. Many schools are often more involved in this than they think.
- Topics such as media literacy are already fairly common in some subjects. Think of reading comprehension, for example. Consider the possibilities of incorporating digital literacy into the current curriculum.
- Get help. Education is a hectic field where quick switching and lack of time play a major role. An external party with the right knowledge and experience can help implement digital literacy at school.
How we can help
The SLO says the following: "The implementation of these new learning areas will require attention from schools.
For example, it may be necessary to provide teachers with additional training. In addition, schools also need good curricula and supporting materials." And Digiwijzer can help with that.
Our team consists of ex-teachers, lesson developers, experts in the field of digital literacy and motivated subject idiots. Our offer is broad.
From lessons in the classroom by one of our Digicoaches to a complete learning environment, from digital training for teachers to co-teaching trajectories.
We can also offer help in drawing up a social media protocol and come to parent evenings to optimize parental involvement with regard to digital literacy.
We see each request as custom work. In this way, we offer solutions for each facet within the target group for which the concept core objectives of the SLO have been compiled: primary education, lower secondary education and of course special education.
